Douglas Farmer is a relatively common name. It was, in fact, my father’s before it was mine. LinkedIn knows of at least 50 of us. More than a dozen Twitter accounts exist under the moniker. Wikipedia's entry discusses a Depression-era University of Michigan quarterback.
Thus, some other well-christened soul laid claim to douglasfarmer.com long before I ever had the chance. More frustrating, that individual does not use
the website, instead only holding the url's rights.
As a result, you now read SoStickAround.com. Here you will find my résumé and a selection of my published writings, as well as a few pieces which never made it to the public.
Without going far, you will discover my experience lies mostly in newspapers. This is not out of an allegiance to print, though I do feel strongly about its merits, but rather out of an addiction to the adrenaline which comes from publishing daily.
If the writings on this site leave you impressed or dismayed, let me know. I am always looking for what is next. When nothing is certain, anything is possible.
So stick around.
— Douglas Farmer.
